At the Banco Sabadell Foundation, we believe in the importance of making cultural events and the arts accessible to different audiences throughout Spain, that is why, we collaborate with outstanding cultural events that promote emerging talent. This commitment is embodied by our support to various leading music festivals that share our values. These events not only enrich the cultural life of our communities, but also inspire people through creativity and innovation. These are just some of them:
- Las Piedras Cantan (The Stones Sing) – 8, 22, 29 June and 14 and 25 July – This festival fusions music with Spain’s historical and cultural heritage. It is held in emblematic places in Castilla y León, allowing music lovers to enjoy concerts in unique settings, which enriches the cultural experience and reinforces the connection with history. All the concerts are free and will take place this year in four castles and one collegiate church.
- IX edición Bachcelona – from 12 to 27 July – Dedicated to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, this festival encourages participatory proposals, outreach activities and also supports young talent, promoting interactions with prestigious artists. These experiences bring young musicians to new professional circuits which they would otherwise not have access to.
- Schubertiada Valdegovía (Álava) y Schubertiada Vilabertran (Girona) – from 5 to 27 July and from 10 to 31 August – Both festivals pay tribute to Franz Schubert, offering recitals and chamber concerts in historical settings, the first in the Basque Country and the second in the towns of Vilabertran, Vilajuïga and Pals (Girona). These events not only bring classical music to new audiences, but also provide a platform for young talent to emerge.
- FRINGE Torroella L’Estartit– from 20 to 24 July – This festival is a space for experimentation and innovation in music and the performing arts. FRINGE Torroella L’Estartit is known for its eclectic and avant-garde programme, offering young artists the opportunity to explore new forms of artistic expression.
- Festival Jordi Savall – from 12 to 18 August – Under the direction of renowned musician Jordi Savall, this festival, held in unique, thousand-year-old venues such as the Royal Monastery of Santes Creus, the town of Montblanc and the Royal Monastery of Poblet, focuses on early and baroque music. In addition to the concerts, the festival includes workshops and training activities, thus fostering learning and appreciation opportunities for historical music among young people.
- Quincena Musical de San Sebastián (San Sebastián Musical Fortnight) – from 1 to 30 August – One of the oldest and most prestigious festivals in Spain, the San Sebastián Musical Fortnight offers a wide range of events, including opera, symphonic concerts and chamber music. This festival is a fundamental platform for disseminating classical music and a meeting point for established and emerging artists.
- Festival Bal y Gay– from 8 to 23 August – Held in the region of A Mariña in Galicia, this festival combines classical music with the beauty of the region’s natural and cultural environment. The Bal y Gay Festival is a perfect example of how music can become part of, as well as enrich, the life of the community.
