The ‘Geografía’ festival travels all over the world through music

From 1st July to 19th August, the Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante (ADDA) will be hosting the summer festival ‘Geography’, a trip around the world through the best international jazz, flamenco, classic and world music. In addition to the schedule, different street shows will be performed (for free) to bring music closer to all audiences. For example, during the inauguration on 1st July Xarva Teatre will be lighting up the esplanade of ADDA, and on the last day of the festival, 19 August, Gianluca Tavaroli will be mixing electronic and ethnic music, merging different genres.

The full schedule of events can be consulted on the ADDA web. Some of the most noteworthy concerts are:

2nd July: Micahael Nyumanm, one of the most innovative and acclaimed British composers for his operas, string quartets, soundtracks and orchestra concerts.

9th July: Richard Bona, bass guitarist, singer and composer, an artist in all of his dimensions, hailing from Africa.

12 de julio: Andrea Motis & Joan Chamorro Group will be performing to the best Jazz rhythmn.

18 July: Chick Corea, a well-known pianist-jazz and classical music composer, will perform with Béla Fleck, who plays banjo music.

23 July: Vicente Amigo, interpreter and compositor, will be one of the persons responsible for representing flamenco at this festival.

13 August: Chano Domínguez and Stefano Bollani, performing a piano duet.
