This weekend we have six cultural recommendations for you.
-‘Da árbore á cadeira’, at the Museo Centro Gaiáis in the Cidade da Cultura in Galicia, is an exhibition that reflects upon the environmental wealth of woodlands and the tradition in Galicia of trades linked to the arts of woodwork and contemporary furniture designs.
-‘World Press Photo Madrid 2017’, the Official College of Architects in Madrid (COAM), displays the award-winning photos of 2016, numbering a total of 143 photographs showing key events during the year.
-‘Weegee by Weegee’ at the Foto Colectania Foundation shows a carefully selected sample of photographs taken by the New York chronicler from the 1930s and 40s, showing photos of crimes, fires and accidents as well as photos of popular social events, such as gatherings on the shores of Coney Island and in other popular recreational spots for New Yorkers during that period.
-‘21st International Organ Festival in Pedreguer’, on Friday 13 October at 20:30 hrs, there will be a concert by the Odessa String Quartet with Izumi Kando playing the organ.
-‘The abstraction eclosion’ at the Valencia Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), brings together close to 150 works of art, in order to analyse abstract art practices developed from the post-war period to the present day.
-‘Reserva’ at Espai 13 of the Joan Miró Foundation brings you a work of art by Gerad Ortín, as part of the cycle ‘La posibilidad de una isla’ (The possibility of an island).
