To recognise the best young research talent in our country and to highlight the impact of their lines of research on wellbeing, this year we are once again calling for applications for the new edition of our awards. These honours recognise knowledge, innovation and talent in the of fields of economic research, biomedicine, science and engineering, and marine sustainability:

• The Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Economic Research, which receives applications every year since 2002, aims to foster and recognise the work of researchers in the fields of economics, business and social sciences, to contribute to the analysis and creation of new alternatives that promote social welfare.

• The Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Biomedical Research seeks to recognise young researchers with an outstanding track record in the fields of biomedicine and health sciences who stand out in their respective specialities for their ability to innovate.

• The Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Sciences and Engineering, created in collaboration with the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST), recognises the work of young researchers who stand out in the fields of mathematics, chemistry, physics and engineering.

• The Banco Sabadell Foundation Marine Sustainability Award aims to encourage and recognise the work of scientists in the field of marine environmental regeneration and the sustainable use of marine resources, and in particular, research that provides tangible evidence of its applicability and impact.
