This Tuesday, 24th January, from 16:30, you can follow the live streaming (by clicking here) of the conference ‘La física del cáncer’ with Mr. Xavier Trepat, ICREA researcher at the Instituto de Bioingeniería de Catalunya (IBEC) [Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia] and winner of the Banco Sabadell Award for Biomedical Research, 2015. Dr. Trepat will explain how physics and biomedicine are combined to fight against cancer.

More about Xavier Trepat

Dr Xavier Trepat has a degree in Physics and Electronic Engineering from the University of Barcelona, and has developed part of his research at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Dalhousie University of Canada, and at the School of Public Health, Harvard University in Boston. He is currently a research professor at ICREA and he leads the laboratory for cellular and tissue dynamics at the Institute of Biotechnology in Catalonia (IBEC), Barcelona. He has been awarded three scholarships from the European Research Council (ERC) for his research into cells and how they generate strength and communicate between themselves and surrounding tissues.
