The 28th edition of Quincena Musical de San Sebastián will be closing this Wednesday, 30 August, after celebrating 94 concerts in a total of 12 cycles.
The closing of the symphonic cycle of the Kursaal Auditorium has a distinct American note to it, after more than 20 years without any American orchestras, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra will make its debut at the Quincena, and it is this orchestra which will close this edition with a programme of works by the most famous names in North American Composition, such as Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland and John Adams. The orchestra will perform under the baton of the current director Lous Langrée, and the programmes will be complemented with works by Tchaikovsky, Dvorak and Bruch. The latter will perform their “Concierto para violín y orquestra no.1” with the participation of the eternally elegant French violinist Renaud Capuçon.
