Alicante will be hosting the XIX edition of FIJAZZ, including performances by internationally acclaimed artists, as well as young, talented, national and above all, local artists. You will be able to enjoy the best of jazz music at the Auditorium of the Regional Government of Alicante from today until July 23rd.
This Saturday, at 20.30, the San Martín de Tours church in Salamanca will be transformed into the venue for the cycle of concerts ‘Las piedras cantan’ including performances by cellist Amarilis Dueñas. Las Piedras Cantan is a cycle of concerts held in collaboration with the Foundation. The objective of these concerts is to promote art and heritage through music, helping young artists to develop their careers.
Another highly recommended exhibition is ‘Ramon Llull La máquina de pensar’ [The Thinking Machine] at Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona. The exhibition explores the impact of the philosopher Ramon Llull on the arts, literature, science and technology. The exhibition is open until December 1st.
Also in Barcelona, it is the last weekend to visit the fourth edition of the Festival of Documentary Photography DOCfield16 which offers a critical view through the works of 100 authors and 30 exhibitions in different art centres, galleries, civic centres and photography schools.
Also this weekend, San Sebastian will be transformed once again into the stage for ‘A Midsummer’s Night Dream’, by Shakespeare, in the Cristina Enea park. The play forms part of the program for #Donostia2016 Capital of Culture.
Another cultural proposal for this weekend is the exhibition ‘Rostros do país’ en la Cidade da Cultura in Galicia. Rostros do país is an exhibition which showcases 70 photographs taken by photographer Xurxo Lobato. The exhibition is open until September 18th.
