For the first weekend of September we recommend several different cultural plans in Alicante, Barcelona, Galicia, Valencia and Vilabertran.
This Friday and Saturday the IBStage Galas are being celebrated at the Teatre Grec in Barcelona at 21:30, in which more than 100 talented young dancers will perform ‘Sleeping Beauty’, based on the choreography of Marius Petipa, adapted by Xiomara Reyes and Elías García, artistic directors of IBStage.
Also in Barcelona, we recommend that you visit the following two exhibitions: ‘Weegee by Weegee’ at Fundación Foto Colectania, which showcases the work by the New York chronicler in the 30’s and 40’s; and the ‘Fruit Belt’, an exhibition by the artist Martin Llavaneras at Espai 13,Fundación Joan Miró.
The Schubertíada de Vilabertran festival holds its last few concerts this weekend. Today, Friday, at 21.30 pianist Javier Perianes will interpret works by Debussy, Falla and Schubert; tomorrow, Saturday 2nd September at 21.30, the orchestra Camerata432, together with the prestigious violinist Muriel Cantoreggi will be performing; and on Sunday 3rd September at 10.30, there is a concert by the Cor de Cambra of the Diputation of Girona, with Joan Serguí playing the organ, under the musical direction of Pablo Larraz, will interpret works by Bruckner, Schubert and Mendelssohn.
