195 professionals from 21 countries take part in Talking Galleries Barcelona

At least 195 professionals from 21 different countries will take part in the fifth edition of the Barcelona Symposium Talking Galleries, held at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) during these days (16th and 17th January 2017).

In this edition, in which Banco Sabadell is taking part once more, professionals will come together, including fair directors, collectors, curators and artists, to debate and analyse the world of gallerism. It is a meeting in which leaders of the world of art meet to discuss current affairs, share experiences and rethink specific models of the art galleries sector.

Thaddaeus Ropac, one of the most influential worldwide European gallerists, will open this year’s symposium with his keynote speech “The Global Gallery”.

For the first time ever, this year the Symposium will include two debate panels focused on local sectors, one of which aims to address the public’s view of art galleries with MACBA’s Head of Marketing, Bel Natividad, and gallerist Carles Casals. The other will address the internationalisation of art galleries, with Joan Anton Maragall, gallerist and Chairman of Art Barcelona, Maria Baró, a gallerist who lives in Brazil, and Cristina Mayoral, Director of Mayoral Espai d’Art.
