Since 2014 we have collaborated with the University of Oviedo to grant IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) grants to young graduates from the University. These grants seek to promote talent and foster training by offering a six-month placement to gain work experience at the IDB.
A few days ago we organised an event with some of the recipients of grants from previous years, and asked them to tell us a bit about their experience. One of the people we spoke to, Antonio Jiménez, an Economics graduate, spent 5 years at the Inter-American Development Bank after receiving the grant, and assured us that “receiving this grant as an Economics graduate really raised my game”. Sergio Martínez, a graduate in Business Management and Administration, told us that “this grant served as a springboard for me, and I was able to go on to work at the Organisation of American States (OAS) and the World Bank, where I have worked for 5 years so far as a communications specialist”.
