The new edition of the Banco Sabadell Foundation Awards, which recognise innovation and research excellence in the fields of Economics, Biomedicine, Science and Engineering and Marine Sustainability, will be open from 2 February to 7 April.

These awards distinguish the most outstanding young research talent in the country and value the contribution of their work to scientific progress and social welfare. There are four categories:

– The Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Economic Research, now in its 25th edition, seeks to encourage and recognise work in the economic, business and social fields that improves social welfare.

– The Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Biomedical Research, in its 21st edition, recognising the excellence and innovative capacity of young researchers with relevant careers in the field of biomedicine and health sciences.

– The Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Science and Engineering celebrates its 10th edition highlighting contributions in fields such as mathematics, chemistry, physics, engineering and earth sciences.

– The Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Marine Sustainability, which is now in its 5th edition, consolidating the need to recognise research that protects the marine ecosystem, the sustainable management of resources and the regeneration of its natural capital, with evidence of practical application and measurable impact.
