New edition of CCTA’s University Mentoring and Talent Management Programme in collaboration with the University of Alicante and the Miguel Hernández University

The programme, promoted by the Banco Sabadell Foundation, is possible thanks to the support of Banco Sabadell’s Technological Skills Centre of Alicante (CCTA) which, through its professionals, offers training and mentorship to students of both universities

This year, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche is joining the programme for the first time

The Banco Sabadell Foundation, through the Bank’s Technological Skills Centre of Alicante (Centro de Competencias Tecnológico de Alicante, or CCTA), has sponsored, alongside the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Students and Employability of the University of Alicante (UA) and, for the first time, the Miguel Hernández University (UMH), a new edition of the University Mentoring and Talent Management Programme.

This project, now in its fifth edition, will pair 33 undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students from UA and UMH with 33 CCTA volunteers to tackle a challenge designed to help them develop key skills and competencies for their professional future. Over the course of four months, students, with the support of professionals mainly from Alicante’s technology and operations sectors, will work on a technological challenge aimed at helping them develop innovative ideas to address social, business or technological problems, as well as learning about key roles, skills and competencies.

After completing the programme, participating students will be better equipped to secure an external internship during the 2025-26 academic year.

Participants will work on a technological challenge aimed at helping them develop innovative ideas to address social, business or technological problems, as well as learning about key roles, skills and competencies

The programme’s kick-off session took place on 25 November 2025 in a hybrid format at the CCTA facilities and was attended by Carlos Rizo, Work Placement and Institutional Relations Coordinator at the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Alicante; Domingo Galiana, Director of the Occupational Observatory of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, Susana Soler, Director at the CCTA; Christian Cortes, IT Manager CCTA, as well as by the mentors and mentees that will take part in this edition of the programme.

To provide a more comprehensive overview of how tech companies operate today, this new edition will also give students the opportunity to visit the technology centres of Accenture, NTT Data and DXC in Alicante.

This year’s application process attracted significant interest from the students, with a total of 80 students registering for the programme, thus reflecting their commitment and motivation. This success is partly thanks to the Innovation Banking Hack Fest 2025 (#IBHF25), the hackathon organised by Sabadell Digital, which brought together more than 140 university students at the CCTA – the perfect setting for fostering learning and professional development.
