The Colegio de Arquitectos de Cataluña (COAC) [College of Architects of Catalonia] and the la Universidad de Cataluña-UPC [University of Catalonia] are organising the 9th Biennial of Landscape Architecture on 29, 30 September and 1 October. During these days the Premio Internacional de Paisaje ‘Rosa Barba’ shall be awarded by Banco Sabadell Foundation.
The 10 final projects have been selected by a prestigious International Jury composed of James Corner, landscaper and founder of Field Operations; Manuel Ruisánchez, architect, member of COAC and professor of Master de Arquitectura del Paisaje at DUOT (UPC) [Master in Landscape Architecture]; Anuradha Mathur, Landscape professor at the University of PennDesign (India); Kathryn Moore, chair of the International Federation of Landscape Artists and landscape professor at Birmingham City University (UK); and Eduardo Cadaval, architect and founder of Cadaval&SolaMorales (Mexico).
The projects which have been selected are as follows:
‘A Flood Adaptive Landscape: Yanweizhoy Park’ in Jinhua (China) by KongjianYu, Turenscape.
‘Landartpark Buitenschot’ in Hoofddorp (Netherlands) by Lodewijk van Nieuwenhuijze, H+N+S.
‘The Good Line’ in Sydney (Australia) by Sacha Coles, ASPECT Studios.
‘Superkilen’ in Copenhaguen (Denmark) by Marin Rein-Cano and Lorenz Dexler, Topotek1.
‘Renaturation del Aire’ in Confignon (Switzerland) by Georges Descombes, Julien Descombes and Marco Rampini, ATELIER DESCOMBES RAMPINI.
‘Barangaroo Reserve’ in Sydney (Australia) by Peter Walker, David Walker, Jay Swaintek and Doug Findlay, PWP Landscape Architecture.
