Hangar, the centre for visual arts production and research, and the Foundation have opened the call for the Banco Sabadell-Hangar II artistic research grant to offer a grant to young researchers with hands-on artistic research projects who need a prototyping, formalisation or production phase. This phase will be completed during a four-month residency in Hangar. The main purposes of the grant are to jointly help the pre-PHD researchers to develop their research project and experimental work together with other entities associated with them, such as universities and research centres.
Iván Paz, I artistic research grant
Iván Paz’s research project is based on algorithmic compositions based on the perceptual exploration of parametric spaces. The process uses a geometric visualisation interface designed to explore the combinations of algorithmic parameters. This allows space to be classified with a view to selecting specific sound materials which are used in real time during the project execution.
