Miquel Molins is stepping down from his role as Chair of the Banco Sabadell Foundation after a brilliant career in Banco Sabadell Group, during which he has been Chair of the Foundation and Director of Banco Sabadell’s Art Collection. During his 23 years at the Group, he has stood out for his commitment to bringing contemporary art closer to the financial institution and for his contribution to the brand.
Miquel Molins holds a PhD in History and Contemporary Art Theory. Since 2011, he has been Chair of the Banco Sabadell Foundation and Director of the Banco Sabadell Art Collection. He has also excelled in the world of education, holding positions such as Lecturer at EINA, at Escola Massana in Barcelona and at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, as well as Dissertation Chair for the Metropolis Masters at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and Director of MACBA. During the 1994/95 academic year, he was Visiting Professor at the Department of Art History, Theory and Criticism of the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. He is currently the Chair of the EINA Foundation. He is also renowned, both nationally and internationally, in the world of contemporary art, having been Curator for various exhibitions. He has published several essays on criticism and modern and contemporary art in specialised publications and press.
The Chair of Banco Sabadell, Josep Oliu, will take over as Chair of the Banco Sabadell Foundation going forward, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to the Foundation and to the pursuit of its activities to foster culture, research and young talent.
The Board of Trustees has reappointed Sonia Mulero as Director of the Foundation.
