The grants are open to Spanish nationals interested in carrying out research projects. You must meet the requirements established by the Banco Sabadell Foundation and not have received a similar grant in previous editions. 

In such a case it is not possible to apply for the grant.

Grants support a wide range of research projects, including research work and activities related to doctoral theses. Projects that address contemporary cultural, economic, political or social challenges or that significantly expand knowledge in their field are particularly valued. 

Applications are evaluated on the basis of the project’s topicality and relevance, scientific quality, clarity of presentation, methodological soundness, the candidate’s qualifications and the research group’s track record.  

You must complete the application form on our website only. Make sure you provide all the required information, including your CV, academic certificates and other necessary documents. 

The application period is from 15 February 2024 to 1 April 2024. Applications that do not meet all the necessary requirements and documentation within this period cannot be changed and will be discarded. 

The Foundation will directly notify those selected to receive the grant from 3 June 2024. Those who do not receive notification within that week should be considered unsuccessful. 

The gross value of the grant is €6,000 and they are subject to current tax legislation. The payment is made in two parts: 50% in July 2024 and the remaining 50% in June 2025, after approval of the final research report. 

You must comply with all the rules set out in the call, provide your bank account number to Banco Sabadell for payment, start the work immediately after notification, submit the final research report in May 2024 and follow other obligations detailed in the rules of the call. 

You don’t need to be a Banco Sabadell group customer to apply for the grant, but if you are awarded the grant, you must open an account in your name with the Banco Sabadell group in order to receive the payment of the grant.
