28th edition of the Schubertiada in Vilabertran kicks off as part of Beethoven Year

The new edition of the Schubertiada in Vilabertran has two main components: song poems and string quartets, which come together in an instrumental ensemble that will celebrate one of the best chapters of its history with several groups that will play through the halls of the Canónica. The Festival will see the debuts of a number of major musicians, including Florian Boesch, Julia Kleiter and Malyn Byström, in addition to the already essential Matthias Goerne, who will be the protagonist of one of two concerts held to celebrate Beethoven Year. The other concert will reveal a lesser-known side of the composer from Bonn: his adaptations of popular European songs.

CONCERTS
A total of 18 concerts will be held between 14 and 30 August in Vilabertran and in Castelló Empúries. The Schubertiada in Valdegovía, Basque Country, will offer a further four concerts.
