As part of the Día de Asturias, the Principality has awarded the Silver Medal to the Banco Sabadell Foundation in acknowledgement of its willingness and commitment to supporting culture and talent.
The Government of Asturias acknowledges the Foundation’s commitment to Asturian society in general, and to the University of Oviedo in particular, as it has a long history of collaboration with the university through student grants and training programmes. This is a link with Asturias which also highlights the aid given to research, the annual call of the Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Economic Research, which singles out young researchers younger than 40 years of age for their excellence in research into economic, business and social understanding, as well as university training programmes, grants for the Inter-American Development Bank, internship programmes, professorships such as the Leonard Cohen and Ángel Gonzáles professorship and the Imagine Silicon Valley 2016 programme, amongst others.
Miquel Molins, Chairman of the Foundation, assures us that this is “the best acknowledgement that one can receive for their work in this autonomous community”.
