The Banco Sabadell Foundation has brought together close to 20 representatives of cultural entities that promote musical initiatives in rural areas at the SumArte event to create synergies and reflect, together, on the importance of a diverse and inclusive culture that is deeply rooted in the local area.
SumArte is part of The Culture around Talent Lab, an innovation lab of the Banco Sabadell Foundation devised to create collaboration and co-creation spaces to address various challenges of the future. In its fourth edition, SumArte will focus on strengthening music-based projects that seek to promote rural heritage and reinforce its cultural and social value.

The event, held at the Gran Teatre del Liceu’s Saló dels Miralls, was conceived to highlight the cultural richness of rural areas, give visibility to projects that are generating impact, and forge new alliances that contribute to ensuring their sustainability and growth. The event provides a space for dialogue in which to share experiences, challenges, and good practices, as well as reflect on the role of music as a tool for cultural and economic revitalisation of rural environments.
During the event, key topics were discussed, including the importance of long-term alliances, financing, and integration with the community. All of this from a standpoint that recognises the uniqueness of rural music heritage and its transformative potential.

The entities that will attend the event are leading musical festivals and initiatives from across the country, such as Cicle d’Òpera a Catalunya, Schubertíada, Espurnes Barroques, Festival Jordi Savall, Festival de Torroella de Montgrí, Atrium Musicae de Cáceres, Raimat Arts Festival, Festival Bal y Gay, Las Piedras Cantan, Camerata Garnati, Bachcelona, and Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, as well as representatives from the Reina Sofía School of Music, which, together with the Banco Sabadell Foundation, runs the Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation programme. A large number of initiatives aimed at promoting rural heritage have emerged from this programme.

To that end, we promote initiatives that foster dialogue, knowledge sharing, and networking between cultural entities. With this aim in mind, a new edition of SumArte has been launched. The initiative serves as a meeting place that brings together organisations from the world of music committed to their regions to share insights, create synergies, and open up new opportunities that contribute to showcasing and strengthening cultural heritage through the arts”.
