This week, the Teatro Nacional de Catalunya (TNC) is showing ‘Llull en la Ciudad Nueva’ for the first time. This is a social project supported by the Banco Sabadell Foundation, which seeks to bring culture closer to groups of people who, for social or economic reasons, find it harder to access this type of activity.
The play is inspired by the activism of Ramon Llull, who lived in cities in which various cultures and religions lived side by side: Christians, Jews and Muslims. Inspired by the philosopher, this play highlights the value of people and the importance of communication when connecting with contemporary experiences where stereotypes and fear often place barriers to dialogues and the union between different cultures and religions.
Various people from different nationalities, cultures and beliefs have come together to take part in this play.
